We drew winners for the September - November KAL so if you participated make sure you watch!
For the next KAL we have been toying with the idea of doing a year long KAL with prizes drawn several times throughout the year. We have nailed down the details yet because we want to make sure we get viewer input! So please make sure you go on over to this thread and give us your ideas.
A spinning centered podcast with a little knitting and crochet thrown in for fun. Our goal is to update either weekly or bi-weekly depending on the adventures life has in store! Stay tuned here for future episodes and all of the show notes!

Episode 57 - Week of Win
Lots of things to talk about this week but very little knitting to show. New cell phone games sucked me away from the yarn this week and as an added bonus I've been working out again! If anyone is on fitbit and wants to be my friend let me know. :)

Episode 55 - Almost November
It looks like I'll have to upload videos to youtube so that they can be viewed on the blog. Hopefully I will get them up here on the blog as soon as they're recorded but depending on how life goes it may be delayed. Shownotes are not happening right now due to the sick kitty but as she improves I hope to get them back up and going!

Episode 54 - Now on Hipcast!
The first new episode on our new hosting site. Please let me know if there are any quality issues! I've had to shrink the file size down quite a bit to accommodate the changes!

Episode 52 - The Vacuum...
Hubby decided he needed to vacuum the loft while I was recording. Unfortunately the sound picked up but it is still easy to hear me over the sound (at least on my end.) If you have trouble let me know and I can see what I can do about fixing it!
Hope you all have a fabulous week!

Episode 41 - Very Delayed
I had full intentions of recording before I left for the Honeymoon but then life got in the way! Oops! Gotta love when it sneaks up on you like that! After watching a marathon of podcasts today I decided that I couldn't wait until next week to put out a new episode. :)
I hope everyone has a fabulous week!
There are two shops I brought up in my episode today that I want to mention!
The Brickless by Martina Behm that I am making out of The Unique Sheep gradience in Tinsel Toes. They still have the Tinsel Toes yarn on their site although I haven't seen the "15 Step" color that I have pieces of. In the last 4 years since I bought this yarn they have come out with a LOT more colors, so the 15 Step may have been retired.
The fiber I'm spinning is "Not Drinking Merlot" by KnittyAndColor. I've talked about her many times before, she's fabulous and I support her every chance I get! (P.S. Her husband makes some gorgeous spindles that I've been dying to buy for awhile! Check his stuff out too while you are at it....)

Episode 40 - Pure Randomness
Episode 40 is up! I still haven't heard from 2 of the winners that were drawn last week so make sure you check out Episode 39 if you entered the Spring KAL/SAL! :)
I hope everyone has a fabulous week! We did talk for a bit about the halfway point so if you aren't into the chatter you can skip out at that point. :)
P.S. I'm going to SSK! If anyone else is going and wants to get together let me know!

Episode 39 - Have you Seen my Gauge?
Yea... very little knitting gets accomplished when gauge is a disaster! I really need to work on that!
Prizes are drawn for the podiversary AND the Spring SALCALKAL!! If you entered any of the two make sure you watch!
I hope everyone has a fabulous week! Next week's episode will probably be a bit early since I'm heading back out of town the following week.

Episode 38 - I Hate Spiders...
Well, it's me and my guest co-host... a spider. Unfortunately my little co-host doesn't last too long during this episode.
Is it bad that every time I try to type "Spider" I put an "n" after the Spi part... I must type spin way too often that my fingers just automatically type it.

Thank you all for joining us on our little podcasting adventure! Hopefully you'll stick around for year two!

Episode 29 - Lack of Spinning Cast
Now with better color; however there is a bit mpre knitting and crochet than spinning!
Grad class is keeping me busy and so it's taking me a bit longer to upload than usual! Just a few more months though and perhaps you'll even see a bit more spinning! (Or you may see less since I won't have as much reason to procrastinate. ;) )
Episode is still converting but I have to get my paper done so I'm posting now! If you have any questions please feel free to contact us on Ravelry or Plurk! (Spun2Tight or HopStitchAndAway)
Have a great week y'all!

Episode 28 - Who Stole My Colors?
Yea.. so the colors are definitely out of whack this go around since we recorded after dark. Maybe next week we'll get an episode in before the sun sets. :)
No show notes this week because I just don't have time with work, grading and getting my knit on, so if you have any questions feel free to come ask in the Ravelry group or send us a PM on Ravelry or Plurk.

Episode 27 - Ode to Bad Lighting
There are a bit of show notes today because I refer to a lot of things that just are not on Ravelry or are on blogs specifically. Gotta give credit where credit is due!
Rockefeller is done! I haven't put any finished photos in Ravelry yet but the majority of the details are there. (I really need to get my projects updated on Ravelry. I've gotten really bad at that lately!)
Tardigrade Pattern: http://jpolka.blogspot.com/2011/09/tardigrade-pattern.html
Yes it is crochet. I'm working it on a size G with worsted weight Caron that I had laying around the stash. I'm hoping to put this in Ravelry but I haven't bothered yet. :D
Crown Mountain Farms: http://www.crownmountainfarms.com/html/animal-fiber/sw-merino.html
Yup... They have 89 colorways! I own sooo many of these and the ones I don't own I really want! (I've spun quite a few of these too) Under the Boardwalk is there and the colors are much better than any photo I could ever take! P.S. If you want an idea how the yarn looks after it's spun check out this link: http://www.crownmountainfarms.com/html/sockhop.html
Oh, and if you wanted the link for "How Sock Hop is Spun" check right here!
http://intrepidfiberwizard.typepad.com/my_weblog/2007/07/taking-a-break.html
Think I got all of the important things! If you have never spun CMF's stuff you seriously should check them out. Making these show notes was dangerous... I made a wish list of colors I want from their superwash merino. The stuff spins like a dream!

Episode 26 - Dori Returns!
We're back and Dori is here! There is a little spinning, a bunch of knitting and a whole bunch of enabling. :)
I will warn you, we were a little rambly and I know I forgot to give the details on some of the projects I was working on! Oops!
Don't forget that the Winter SALCALKAL is open and any cowls and we'll be drawing prizes for two categories! Handspun finished between December and February and finished cowls and socks knit or crocheted out of your handspun during the same time frame!
If you want to get in touch feel free to join A Spinner's Whirled group on Ravelry! As always, feel free to send us a message on plurk or Ravelry with any questions you have. :)
